We have great news: Geodata Online — a Tool for Tables is now officially available on Google Workspace Marketplace. The add-on has successfully completed Google’s compliance review process and can now be installed by Google Sheets users.

With the new tool, users can connect GeoData Online services to Google Sheets and process addresses, geodata, IP addresses, and full names directly in their spreadsheets—without manually transferring information between systems, building a custom integration, or writing code.

Up-to-Date Address Data Directly in Google Sheets

Businesses work with spreadsheets containing the addresses of customers, partners, retail locations, branches, and properties every day. These databases often include spelling errors, incomplete addresses, inconsistent formats, outdated street names, or missing postal codes.

Previously, checking and enriching this data often required exporting a spreadsheet, uploading it to another service, or setting up a custom API integration. The new GeoData Online add-on makes the process much easier.

You can continue working in your existing Google Sheet, select the column containing the source data, and launch the required processing scenario. The tool processes the rows through the GeoData Online API and adds the results to the current sheet or a separate worksheet. There is no need to reformat your database or move the data into a predefined template.

What Can the GeoData Online Add-On Do?

The add-on supports eight data-processing scenarios divided into three main categories.

Address Processing

  • parse an address into individual components, including postal code, region, district, community, city, street, building number, and other fields;
  • complete and normalize an address by creating a single standardized address string;
  • prepare address fields for contracts, envelopes, and postal deliveries;
  • transliterate address data into Latin characters for international mail.

Geo Services

  • retrieve an address and related geodata from geographic coordinates;
  • identify a city, region, and connection details using an IP address.

Full Name Processing

  • split a full name into surname, first name, patronymic, and other components;
  • generate the correct Ukrainian grammatical cases for full names;
  • transliterate first and last names into Latin characters.

A complete overview of the available features and usage instructions can be found on the GeoData Online tool page.

Who Is This Tool For?

The add-on was created for anyone who works with addresses, geodata, IP addresses, or full names in Google Sheets—regardless of their profession, team size, or data volume.

It is just as suitable for a personal spreadsheet with only 20 rows as it is for a small business customer list or a database containing thousands of records. Users do not need to be analysts, work for a large company, or build a custom API integration.

The tool can be useful for:

  • individual users who want to check or enrich a short list of addresses;
  • freelancers and small teams managing customer or operational spreadsheets;
  • online stores, delivery services, sales teams, and customer support teams;
  • marketing teams, contact centers, logistics companies, and postal operators;
  • analysts and organizations preparing data for CRM, ERP, or other systems.

A short list can be processed in a few simple steps, while larger spreadsheets can be handled in batches with progress tracking, the ability to stop processing, and the option to rerun only rows that returned errors.

Successfully Reviewed by Google

Before being published on Google Workspace Marketplace, the add-on completed Google’s required compliance review process and met the technical and policy requirements for marketplace publication.

Users no longer need to connect scripts manually or perform complicated setup procedures. The add-on can be installed directly from the official Google Workspace Marketplace and will then appear in the Extensions menu in Google Sheets.

We have also paid particular attention to data handling and privacy:

  • the add-on works only with the spreadsheet currently opened by the user;
  • it processes only the columns explicitly selected by the user;
  • only the data required for the selected scenario is sent to the GeoData Online API;
  • the add-on does not access Gmail, Google Calendar, other Google Sheets files, or unrelated Google Drive content;
  • user passwords are not stored—a secure access token is used for authentication.

How to Get Started

  1. Install Geodata Online — a Tool for Tables from Google Workspace Marketplace.
  2. Open the required Google Sheet on your computer.
  3. Go to Extensions → GeoData Online → Open Sidebar.
  4. Sign in to your GeoData Online account.
  5. Select a processing scenario and specify the column containing the address, coordinates, IP address, or full name.
  6. Choose where the results should be added: the current sheet or a separate worksheet.
  7. Click Process.

Large datasets are processed automatically in batches. The sidebar displays the current progress and estimated completion time. If processing is interrupted, running the same scenario again will continue from the unprocessed rows.

Please note that API requests are billed according to your GeoData Online plan. The current balance is displayed directly in the add-on sidebar while it is running, so it can be monitored before starting and throughout processing.
